1990年9月

「歯科の国際保健医療協力を語る会」を前身とし設立

～2000年

村居正雄会長のもと、歯科保健医療を中心とした国際協力の立案，実施を行うとともにその背景にある栄養・食生活の改善について調査協力を行うことを目的に，カンボジア，ソロモン諸島，ミャンマーなどでの協力活動を行うとともに、学術集会の開催やニュースレターの発行、人材育成のための小規模国際協力活動の助成（シーズ・プロジェクト）を行ってきた。

2000年度～2009年度

深井穫博会長のもと、連絡協議会としての活動を強化し、学術集会の開催やニュースレターの発行以外にも、フォーラムやワークショップを開催し、2002年には国際歯科保健医療NGOダイレクトリを発行した。

人材育成のための小規模国際協力活動の助成（シーズ・プロジェクト）はその後も継続し、多くの歯科学生らが参加するようになった。

2010年度～2013年度

白田千代子会長のもと、既存の会の役割を遵守しながら、開かれた会とすべく運営された。行政機関、教育機関、NGOなどとの情報共有や連携に向けて、ホームページの開設、メーリングリストの運営を開始した。

ニュースレターは定期的に発行され、国際歯科保健医療NGOダイレクトリーも2回改訂し、研修会が積極的に開催された。同時に、運営や会員管理など組織のスリム化を進め、収支も健常化した。

2014年度～2017年度

河村康二会長のもと、新たなスタイルで更に発展を続けている。

2018年度～

宮田隆会長のもと、歯科系NGOの相互交流と情報交換の場となるようホームページ等を充実させること、歯科系NGOの活動を経済的に補助するシーズプロジェクトを再開すること、学生や若手の会員向けの研修会を充実すること、を基本方針として運営されている。

History

September of 1990

“Meeting to talk about the medical cooperation of the international dental health” was established. Subsequently, this meeting was called “Japan Association of International Cooperation for Oral Health (JAICOH)”.

-2000

The president Masao Murai and the members carried out the dental treatment and the nutritional survey in Cambodia, Solomon Islands, and Myanmar. Also, they held the academic meeting, published the newsletter, and established the projects for human resource development.

2000-2009

The second president Kakuhiro Fukai and the members continued to hold the academic meeting and to publish the newsletter. Moreover, they held the forum and the workshop, and published the directory of international dental health NGO in 2002.

Many dental students, etc. had been joined in the JAICOH because of the human resource development project.

2010-2013

The third president Chiyoko Hakuta and the members continued and/or developed the role of pre-existing conference, and started the homepage and the mailing list to cooperate with an administrative organ, an educational institution, and the other NGO.The newsletter was regularly issued, the directory of the international dental health NGO was revised twice, and the workshop was often held. And revenue and expenditure were normalized and they aimed the smart management.

2014-2017

The fourth president Kohji Kawamura and the members continue to develop the JAICOH in a new style.
